Grandma James Comes to Visit!

Okay, so it's been a bit busy here and I have some catching up to do. (Which I am going to do chronologically.) On Saturday, Aug. 1 Grandma James' (Spencer's mom) came to visit! We drove to Harrisburg to pick her up and it was so good to see her. She brought Cooper toys (which he loved!) and a lot of darling little clothes for Sadie. The train that Cooper is playing with in these pictures is a really special toy. The James' painted it for Cooper for family home evening. Everyone got in on the fun and Uncle Craig even stayed up late to finish off the wheels. It is very cute and as you can see, Cooper loved it!

Monday August 3 was Sadie's due date. We went to the doctor that morning and I was no more dilated or effaced. Bummer! It made me a bit stressed that the little girl would be stubborn and not come before Grandma James had to leave on Sunday. To take our minds off thinking about it too much we picked up Spencer from work a little early and headed up to Whipple Dam. It was really fun! Cooper waded into the water and then he was fine getting picked up and carried in deeper. Daddy splashed him once on accident when he was starting to swim and Cooper kept a VERY close eye on Spencer the rest of the adventure. We saw a duck that got a little friendly and had a tag-along fish that sat by us for a long time. Holding rocks that Daddy brought him may have been Cooper's favorite part! After swimming Grandma James took us all out to dinner at an Italian place that was really good.
Tuesday we made a lot of plans to keep us busy until Sadie arrived. (I am a Murphey after all, if there are things planned, something will definitely happen to mess them up!) We walked to the Boalsburg farmer's market and got a couple zucchini to make zucchini brownies. Then we went to JoAnn's to get some material to make a purse (a project I've been wanting to try but thought may go better with some more experienced mentoring.)
