Shout out to Sadie!

Okay, so I was thinking it would be fun to try and set up a background and see if I could take any cute pictures. Cooper on the other had saw the background and thought it would be a blast to destroy it, which he did, with lots of giggles of delight (how can you stop that?). So by the time he got finished, this is what we ended up with. Still cute, but definitely only because of the kids and not my photography. Oh well, what do you do?

And I'm going to take a second to brag about Sadie. She is AWESOME! Last night we bathed her at 8, she finished eating at about 8:40, and was in bed by 8:45. Guess when our little angel woke up! 5:30! It always feels good to get a bigger chunk of sleep. Unfortunately, her cries woke up the Coopermonster (as Daddy calls him) who was not going to be talked into going back to sleep. Trust us, we tried! Daddy took him downstairs and after Sadie ate I got to go back to sleep for awhile! Yay for Spencer. Thanks! I'm just crossing my fingers that Cooper gets used to Sadie's noises soon. He's been waking up at 7 every day because of her, and the little guy needs just a bit more sleep than that.

A New Baby

We got a new baby at our house today! Luckily this time it was a plastic one. (Side Note: Do you know how hard it is to find a baby without any pink on it? Two stores later and we bought the ONLY one. Not even just the only type, but the only baby.) Cooper loved it for the first few minutes. I wrapped it up for him and every time he dropped it I had to wrap it up for him again. He had to put it on the play mat with Sadie, and my personal favorite, he discovered that he could suck the baby's binki.

Love the scowl on Sadie's face. She gives it to me when she's eating, and quite a few other times throughout the day too for that matter.

Grange Fair

Okay, so I'm behind and trying to catch up! On September 1 we went to the Grange Fair. It's a really big deal here in central PA. When school starts depends on when this fair is. People camp out at it for a week. Seriously, in tents. Like the musical State Fair. In fact, I made Spence come home and watch it with me because it reminded me of it so much. I love that movie.
But back to the fair. We went with the Swensons again this year and had a blast. We checked out all the animals. Cooper actually liked them this year, which was fun. The first ones we saw were the pigs and one really started grunting at Coop which scared him off a little. He walked aroundquite a bit and seemed just like a big kid, he's growing up so fast!

Spencer had the great idea to try SkeeBall which Cooper LOVED! At $0.25 a game he had to play a couple. The look in the picture is the one he had pretty much the whole time. Total amazement. I think he's going to take after his uncle Tyler and be a shotputter, but I have a feeling Ty will have some pointers for him on form.
We also bought a basketball (mostly just because it had a pump with it) at one of the funny little stands and Cooper had a blast with that. He wouldn't let that thing out of his sight.
Sadie slept through almost the whole fair. She got hungry a little ways before we were though so we took a break to feed her dinner (Lucas got his dinner then too) and then went to watch the trucks drag race in mud, or something like that. It was really loud, but Sadie managed to sleep through it and Cooper though it was pretty interesting to see. We headed home after that and as I sat with Spence on the couch that night after the kids were bathed and in bed I couldn't help but say, "You smell like a pig!" But hey, I'm sure I did too! Can't wait till next year! :)

Uncle Trenton and Aunt Ashley Came to Visit

When Spencer and Cooper took Grandma to Harrisburg, they kept right on driving because Trenton was coming into Philadelphia that same night. They got back to our house pretty late, so Trenton didn't get to hold Sadie until morning, but he didn't hardly put her down for the next 10 days! We had a blast with him! We went on walks, went swimming at Whipple Dam, finger painted with whipped cream (or mostly just ate it), visited Hershey, did the sights in Philadelphia and hung out a lot. Sadie never made it to her bed before 3 at her first feeding with Trenton holding her every second he could. It was a ton of fun to have such an adoring uncle and brother here. We love you Trent!

When we took Trenton to Philadelphia to fly out, we just hung out for less than an hour and in flew Ashley! We had a little trouble finding her at the airport (we were in the wrong place, not her) but after that we had a blast! We spent the night and then toured Philadelphia (again) and stopped in Hershey (again). We also stopped at Valley Forge which was fun and a first for us. Ash stayed for the week and we had so much fun with her. We did a lot of the same things that we did with Trenton and with Grandma James, but they are pretty much the things that we do anyway, so they never get old. We went on walks, went swimming at Whipple Dam again, cooked, make a couple bracelets, held babies, and played. Our kids are so lucky to have so many people who love them. Thanks for spending your graduation present on us Ash! We loved having you here!

Coming Home and the First Few Days

We came home from the hospital on Friday morning. Spencer was itching to get out of that place! Grandma James and Cooper were there to greet us and made Sadie a welcome home banner. We spent the next few days with Grandma playing, holding, napping, and eating. Just the typical newborn (and 15 month-old) activities. It was so fun to have Grandma James here. We were so happy she could come and glad that Sadie cooperated and got to meet her. On Sunday Spencer and Cooper left to take Grandma James to the Harrisburg airport. We were really sad to say goodbye! We miss her!
