October 2010

Okay, October was a blast. Before and after Grandma and Grandpa's visit we kept busy too. Katie and I made applesauce for the second year in a row. Cooper got on a Twister kick where we drug it out every day. We started potty training (and mostly finished it...) We went to the pumpkin patch (and had the hardest time getting any usable pictures). Cooper whined the whole time until I understood what he wanted, which happened to be a little pumpkin. Sadie's favorite cereal is Frosted Shredded Wheat (still actually). Cooper got on a cupcake kick where he loved to make, and of course eat, them. We went trick or treating at the Penn State Sports Museum where we met the Nittany Lion up close and a little too personal for Sadie. We also went trick or treating to houses on Thursday, which is when State College moved trick or treating too. To top it off we had a trunk or treat at the church. These kids definitely caught on the the phrase trick or treat and the candy that followed. A discussion of October wouldn't be complete without noting that we finished most of it without Spencer. He took his comprehensive exams right before my parents came and studied from 6 am to 10 pm almost every single day for the 6 weeks preceding them. I'm happy to report that his hard work paid off. He passed with flying colors and exceeded his committees expectations. Way to go Spence! We're all happy to have that behind us.
